Who is my Shelter? by Neta Jackson

In our world today, when all hope is lost, where do you go?

Who is my Shelter by Neta Jackson tells us the answer to that. Jackson’s tale is one of hope. Who is my Shelter is the fourth book in Jackson’s House of Hope series. I enjoyed the book; however, it brought about memories of times past. The book itself was inspiring and I only wish she would have added a little more at the ending.

Gabby Fairbanks is currently separated from her husband, working for Manna House, and living at House of Hope. Each day she does her best to help others in need; yet, she can’t seem to figure out how to let God handle her own problems.

In Who is my Shelter, Jackson tells us who can handle our problems. She allows Gabby to talk it over with friends, to pray, and then let God take care of it. Gabby learns to ask for prayer from her brothers and sister in Christ, all the while learning that she can’t do everything by herself.

Gabby’s journey is not an easy one. With children in tow, she must decide what to do about her marriage. It wasn’t easy to admit where she wronged in it, while her husband was taking the full blame. His actions during their marriage were harsh and hurtful; yet, Gabby takes responsibility in her part of the failed years.

Gabby and Philip must learn that God is there for them, along with family and friends; they have to decide where their marriage goes from here. Not everyone has a prayer group, but that doesn’t mean you can’t ask someone.

God is our shelter and he is there during the storm. Who is my Shelter is a great read and reminded me of the fact that God is always there and He is my Rock.

The song mentioned in this story is one of my favorites. I go to the Rock!
